Butter-Free Chicken Gravy For A Lighter Option

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and shredded

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

For the Gravy:

• ¼ cup all-purpose flour

• three cups vegetable broth

• 2 cups unsweetened almond milk

• ½ teaspoon dried sage

• ½ teaspoon dried thyme

I met this dude on safari in Kruger National park in northern South Africa. The giraffes were easily in my favorite creatures to witness. They seemed almost prehistoric the the way the graced the African plain.

3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and prepare dinner for 5-7 minutes per side, or till golden brown and cooked via.

4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

5. Add the onion and celery to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or till softened.

6. Add the garlic and prepare dinner for 1 minute extra.

7. Add the flour to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.

8. Gradually whisk in the milk and bring to a boil.

9. Reduce heat and simmer for five minutes, or until the gravy has thickened.

10. Stir within the chicken and prepare dinner for two minutes more.

11. Serve the chicken gravy over rice or noodles.
